The Hmong people aided the Americans during the Vietnam War. In return, many Hmong people were taken as a refugee in America. Many of the Hmong people settled in Wisconsin, with over 6,000 residents residing in the Dane County area. However, many resources and organizations were not culturally and linguistically prepared to help the Hmong refugees. In 1987, a group of Hmong clan leaders started this non-profit to help assist their community. The organization has evolved from providing traditional Hmong assistance to opening up channels for businesses and organizations to collaborate with the Hmong community. Ensuring that the Hmong community is comfortable with the change and moving into the American society with ease.
